....The pomp and ceremony
The presentaions of the 60 proposals..
The Loucas were present because they were selected - with 4
other contestants from Latin America to present to the other contestants from
all over the world - original, creative, and cost-effective proposals
to prevent and combat sexist violence. |
On that famous night a total of 60 finalists awaited
the announcement of the 3 proposals that would
receive financial support, to be finally chosen by the
international jury composed of activists,
all specialists in the subject.
And the unbelievable
happened.
The Loucas (the only contestants from Brazil)
were called to climb onto the stage,
together with colleagues from Germany,
and a 13 year-old girl grom Kenya.
And a standing ovation from "The Garden".
